Hey everyone! A Sunday review this week. Back to Saturdays next week!

Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist.

Every now and then you need to watch a movie that you are at first unsure about. As a creature of habit, I tend to always head towards the same type of genres, interests, likes etc. So when spouse picked this movie I wasn’t altogether excited. It looked a bit blah. How wrong I was! It was cute, funny and very un-Hollywood. It made me laugh and feel fuzzy. And it was set in one of my favourite cities ever, New York. However, unlike most of the big name NY movies, it gave us a more varied view of the NY neighbourhoods rather than just the usual focus of Times Square and Fifth Ave.

Nick and Norah meet unexpectedly on a night out into the city whilst in search of their favourite Indy group. Nick, played by the impossibly cute and awkward Michale Cera is the only straight guy in an otherwise all gay band. He’s completely hung up on ex Tris, a mean spirited stick figure who’s now off cavorting with a college boy. Norah (Played by the gorgeous and funny Kat Dennings) is babysitting her drunk friend Caroline at the same gig, whilst being tormented by the awful Tris for her lack of male company. Nick and Norah stumble across each other and what we then experience, is a cross city search for the Indy band, drunk friends and love, all set to the hapless Nick’s infinite and awesome playlists.

There are some very funny moments, some very gross moments and one very long lasting piece of gum.

I highly recommend you step out of your usual movie patterns and grab this epic little movie!
