In October 2011 I had a photoshoot with a magazine and it made me realise how badly I saw my own self in the mirror. While most women have fleeting “fat” days, and yes everyone has them! Even the size six women.
It was only last week that I had my A-HA! moment. I was looking at my body in the mirror, on one of those “fat” days and realised I am not actually that fat. Sure I have some extra weight here and there but I am not overweight and I have an OKAY body. It was in this moment that I realised that I have such bad confidence about my body that I don’t think it would matter if I lost weight, I would still see my body as “fat”. And it makes me wonder how many other women feel this way too.
As women we are definitely our harshest critics but I think that we all need a moment to remember that we have amazing bodies and should be proud of them, just as they are!

Saturday the 29th of October 2011 will be this years “I Heart My Body 2011″ day.
Take a photograph of you this week sometime. Take it so you feel sexy/pretty/cute/hot/gorgeous/beautiful.
Post it on your blog sometime this week before Saturday. Spread the word to your blogging community about loving their bodies.
Share your own story about your body image issues. But then tell me one or more things that you love about your body! and why!
Then come back on Saturday the 29th of October and link it up!
Be sure to come back on Saturday and support everyone who is linking up to heart their bodies!
Who is ready to proud and love their body?
ps. I made a button too!

hi Carly, I really relate to this….i have always had an issue with photographs of myself and have always seem to zoom in on everything that looks ‘wrong’. I had a professional photo shoot a few months ago and really noticed how stiff, uncomfortable and how unnatural I felt – even though the photographer was fantastic and I felt very at ease with her. One of my aims in life is 100% self-love and yet it reminds me there is still a lot more ‘loving’ to do!! Good on you for this fantastic project, it’s a great idea love Mxx
Hi Michelle,
Thanks for your support. I think that as women we are so hard on our bodies and really need to look at more of the positive aspects and love ourselves.
Thanks!
Carly
I love this link up! What a gorgeous idea. I’m afraid I am away from home until Sunday and therefore can’t take a snap and upload to participate but I’m so happy to share amongst my community. Please do this every year – but give us a litle more time! You could be on to something beautifully bold and big.
Hi Julie,
That’s okay! I will leave the linkup open for an extra week as I did last year!
I will definitely do it every year. Last year it was on the 15th of October and I just wasn’t sure if I was going to do it this year or not until I finished the site and thought, yep I will post it up! Hence the short notice!
Thanks for your support!
Carly
I’m in! Will bully my other half to taking a pic but need to find some daylight to do it in!
Hurrah!
Looking forward to seeing them! xx

Link up will go live 6am tomorrow morning!

Hiya,
Im wondering if there are any I Heart My Body guidelines? I dont want to violate any rules with my photographs (home shot boudoir type shots)
No rules! Last year I posed half naked; this year I am fully clothed.
Completely up to you and what you feel comfortable in showing off!
